Swamp milkweed is one of the few host plants for monarch caterpillars. The eye-catching pink flowers attract bee, butterflies and hummingbirds
It is not likely to flower in the first year of planting. The stems die out in winter and new shoots emerge the next spring. Please don’t clean up the dry stems (see the last point for details)
