Wild blueberries are generally harder to plant as it requires low pH acidic soil
It is normal that the plant looks dry, bald and ugly when reaching you. It is better to re-pot it in a container first. After two sets of new leaves are developed, it can be moved to the ground.

Blueberries are able to live up to 40 years. Thus a plant would produce for decades for you and your family. This is a lowbush blueberry, also known as wild lowbush blueberry. It is the same wild blueberry one would find in Muskoka, Ontario. Though the fruits are small, it is sweet and aromatic. Note that blueberry needs acidic soil and full sun to perform. It is also recommended to plant multiple varieties of blueberries to help them cross-pollinate.
