Eastern white pines were once abundant in North America until they were “selected” for ship masts for the British Royal Navy in the 1700s. They were also the most desirable lumber trees. The old-growth pines were almost wiped out from the face of New England in the late 1800s. Centuries after, this conifer made a comeback and continued to watch over this beautiful land.
Warning for Fire: This plant has a high flammability rating and should not be planted within the defensible space of your home.
