Hazelnut (Corylus) is a compact, cold-hardy tree or shrub that offers the benefits of nut production without the demands of larger nut trees. It requires less space, is easier to prune, and produces nuts with an unmatched, rich flavor.
These seeds come from naturally hybridized trees—a cross between American Hazelnut (Corylus americana) and European Hazelnut (Corylus avellana), commonly known as "hazelbert." This hybrid combines cold tolerance with excellent nut quality.
Hundredfold Note:🌿
Hazelnuts make a smart addition to edible landscapes. Planted near your vegetable garden, hazel shrubs provide a renewable source of pea sticks—perfect for supporting peas and climbing beans. For optimal nut yield, plant at least two genetically distinct trees to promote cross-pollination.
