As the name suggests, the Chantenay carrot originated from the Chantenay-Villedieu region of Northwest France. A versatile plant, it can be served as baby carrot, snacking carrot, or storage carrot. Moreover, these carrots can be stored in the ground in the autumn and winter under straw to protect from winter frosts, and to retain the freshness of the vegetable.
