Grow an Icon of Canada – Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum)
The Sugar Maple is one of Canada's most iconic native trees—admired for its brilliant fall foliage, valuable hardwood, and role as the primary source of pure maple syrup. Upright and graceful, this majestic tree can reach heights of 25–35 meters and live up to 300 years.
Known for being shade-tolerant and long-lived, sugar maple thrives in a variety of well-drained soils but does not do well in swampy conditions or areas with high road salt or air pollution.
